Description

Early-harvest Tuscan olive oil, personally selected, quality-checked, and backed by us.

  • Noticeably fresher flavour — The olives are harvested while still green, in October, and extracted within 24 hours. Most olive oils are already several months old.

  • Laboratory-verified quality — Polyphenols >450 mg/kg, around 3–4× above average. Acidity <0.3%, almost 3× below the EU limit.

  • Personally selected for flavour, with judgement shaped over years — Aljaž personally selects every batch. Customers trust his judgement because the oil tastes exceptional.

  • Full traceability — A batch number on every bottle means you always know where your olive oil comes from.

  • Fair price for everyday use — Exceptional quality for every day, without an unnecessary premium mark-up.

  • 3 L tin for your home supply — more olive oil, better value per litre.

For anyone who cooks regularly, cares about flavour and quality, and wants a simple choice they can trust.

Bittergreen has full traceability – from the grove via laboratory analysis to your table.

Alu Tins + Refillable Bottles

Keep the tin in a cool, dark space. Refill a small kitchen bottle as needed. Always wash and dry refilable bottle before refilling.

Authentic Tuscan varieties: A blend of Frantoio, Moraiolo, and Leccino creates a perfect balance of fruitiness, freshness, and intensity.
Early harvest: The olives are picked while still green, giving the oil an exceptionally intense and vibrant fresh flavour.
Rich in antioxidants: The high polyphenol content creates that distinctive, pleasantly peppery sensation in the throat.
Tuscan hills: The unique climate and rocky soils give the oil its characteristic terroir and exceptional quality.
Fresh green notes: Expect flavours of freshly cut grass, artichoke, and green tomato, with a long, rich finish.

Why aluminium.
For larger quantities of olive oil, aluminium is one of the best packaging materials. It completely blocks light — one of the main enemies of polyphenols — while being lightweight, stable and fully recyclable. The inside is protected with a food-grade coating that prevents the oil from coming into contact with the metal, helping preserve its clean flavour and freshness for longer.

Practical for everyday use.
Our recommendation: keep a smaller bottle in the kitchen, around 250–500 ml, and refill it from the tin every 1–2 weeks. For clean, drip-free pouring, we recommend our stainless-steel funnel, available separately. This keeps the tin closed most of the time and helps the oil inside stay fresh for longer.

Larger size, identical quality.
The quality is exactly the same as in our bottles: laboratory report, Toscano PGI certification, EU Organic certification and full traceability. Store the oil tightly closed in a cool, dark place at around 15–20 °C. When stored properly, it stays fresh for at least six months after opening — exactly the usage cycle the tin is designed for.

FAQ

Supermarket oils are often months or years old, blended from unknown sources, stored warm under lights. Bittergreen is picked green, pressed within 24 hours, personally selected, lab-tested, stored cold, arrives fresh. You taste the difference immediately.

Olives picked in October when green, not November when ripe. Green olives have 3-4x more polyphenols—better taste, stronger health benefits.

Every bottle is lab-tested for polyphenols (>450 mg/kg) and acidity (<0.3%). You get the actual numbers, not marketing claims. Plus it's recommended by MasterChef winners and used in restaurants.
